ABOUT LAKE FORK
Lake Fork is located on the Sabine River in Hopkins, Rains, and Wood
counties with a surface area of 27,000 acres and was impounded in 1980.
Aquatic vegetation such as hydrilla, milfoil, and water hyacinth with many
creeks, standing timber and underwater roadbeds provide many different
types of structure for catching trophy bass at Lake Fork. A combination of
restrictive slot limit (16-24 inches) and stocking of Florida strain bass
have contributed to Lake Fork's development into one of the country's
premiere trophy bass lakes. Over half of Texas' Top 50 largest bass
entered into the Share Lunker Program were caught from Lake Fork.
